Presbyterian Women

                                           Presbyterian Women (PW) is an independent organization within the                                                      Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) of more than 300,000 women. The                                                                programming and resource options for the organization offer a variety of                                                ways for women to live out their faith in an inclusive, caring community.

                                           PW Purpose:
                                           Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy                                                    Spirit, we commit ourselves-

                                               * to nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study,
                                               * to support the mission of the church worldwide,
                                               * to work for justice and peace
                                               * and to build an inclusive, caring community.
 



Our local circle is a dedicated body involved in:

* Monthly Meetings (fourth Tuesday at 2:00 PM)
* Monthly Working Women's Bible Study (second Tuesday at 6:00 PM)
* Bereavement meals
* Contributing to the benevolences of the church
* Cookie baskets for the shut-ins at Christmas
* Goodies boxes for college kids
* Cards for shut-ins and special occasions
* Cake and Punch for the State Hospital
* Hosting a yearly banquet for all women of the church
* Honoring Lifetime Membership
* Willie Hall Black Scholarship fund for those called to ministry
* Church Women United (Women from various Big Spring Churches)
* Tres Rios Presbytery Involvment
* Supporting mission at all levels: Presbytery, Synod and Churchwide.
